My scholarship has enabled me to put all my efforts into my studies, without having employment as a priority or distraction. It it thanks to that generous support that I have been able not only to dedicate more time to my classes, but also to participate in student groups and community services.
Why did you choose to attend the University of Maryland, what makes this place special to you and what is your favorite part of being a Terp?
After extensively researching college programs that met my requirements, Maryland stood out as my best option because of its faculty, international programs, and its proximity to Washington, DC.
How will you make a positive difference in the world?
I will make a positive difference in the world by giving back to the people who have not been given the opportunities I have. I want to pass on the knowledge I've gained at this institution to rural communities so that they can enjoy a higher standard of living. Every morning I think of the very few that have the same tools I enjoy, and that gives me strength not to take things for granted and to make sure I fulfill my goals.
