What leadership roles or volunteer experiences have been important to you during your time at Maryland?

This past summer I was a T.A. and R.A. for high school students who wanted to learn more about engineering. I enjoyed my position as their mentor and the time we spent together during the engineering projects.

What has your scholarship meant to you and how has it enabled you to pursue new and exciting opportunities?

With two first generation children in college and menial jobs as a source of income, my parents put most of their earnings in tuition fees. If I had not received a scholarship, I would have to work many hours while I was at school, endangering my grades and the possibility of graduation.

Why did you choose to attend the University of Maryland, what makes this place special to you and what is your favorite part of being a Terp?

The University of Maryland is an active school, with many student organizations. The school also has a strong aerospace engineering field, which made it my top college choice.

How will you make a positive difference in the world?

I hope through my work we can better understand the world and find ways to improve life.
