What leadership roles or volunteer experiences have been important to you during your time at Maryland?
-Ultimate Frisbee Captain and Co-Vice President (current) -Chair, Sports and Rec Committee, Anne Arundel Hall (2002-2003) -Chair, Outreach committee, Anne Arundel Hall (2003-2004) -E=MC2 after school program with elementary students (Spring 2003) -Relay for Life (Spring 2003/2004)
What has your scholarship meant to you and how has it enabled you to pursue new and exciting opportunities?
My scholarship has allowed me to save money in order to spend time abroad. I was able to go to Germany for one month during the Summer of 2004 and hope to go again in the Summer of 2006.
Why did you choose to attend the University of Maryland, what makes this place special to you and what is your favorite part of being a Terp?
I chose to attend the University of Maryland because it has a ranked engineering school, research opportunities for undergraduates, was relatively close to home, and when I came to visit here, it just felt right.
How will you make a positive difference in the world?
I hope to make a positive difference in the world by designing new technologies and products that will better society, the environment, and the engineering profession.
