What has your scholarship meant to you and how has it enabled you to pursue new and exciting opportunities?
My scholarship has allowed me to focus on my schoolwork and strengthen my skills as a journalist. I just graduated this December and am now working as an editorial aide at The Washington Post.
Why did you choose to attend the University of Maryland, what makes this place special to you and what is your favorite part of being a Terp?
I attended Maryland because it was financially more affordable than other schools, but also because of its diverse academic options, its beautiful mall, and its students' genuine school spirit.
How will you make a positive difference in the world?
I hope to encourage young people to read the newspaper and take an interest in the news and the cultural arts, subjects that I think are under-appreciated by my generation.
