What has your scholarship meant to you and how has it enabled you to pursue new and exciting opportunities?
Although, it is only the middle of my first semester at UMD, I already feel the burden has been lifted off my shoulders because of the scholarships I have received. It is a great feeling to know that my hard work in the past was rewarded with a scholarship, and at the same time, it is an incentive and inspiration to work continue to work hard to keep my current scholarships. Having my scholarships, has enabled me to take this semester off from work. I have not gotten an on campus job because I wanted to get used to my new setting. Have the extra financial help through my scholarships has enabled me to do so.
Why did you choose to attend the University of Maryland, what makes this place special to you and what is your favorite part of being a Terp?
I chose to attend UM because of the great engineering program is has to offer. The faculty and staff take great pride and care in their students and want them to succeed. Also, there are so many opportunities for engineering students to engage in practially anything they desire. Also, not only does it offer a great engineering program but also, students can engage in activites outside of their major.
How will you make a positive difference in the world?
I hope to one day become a project manager for a contracting company. As a result, I want to put my knowledge and talents to work and be able to help built successful pieces of architecture that will benefit our world!
