4 SCHOLARSHIPs AWARDED:
What leadership roles or volunteer experiences have been important to you during your time at Maryland?
The most important leadership role I have held on campus is being a team leader in the university's Gymkana Troupe. Gymkana is an acrobatics performance group who advocates a drug and alcohol free lifestyle and it has been a major part of my time in college.
What has your scholarship meant to you and how has it enabled you to pursue new and exciting opportunities?
My scholarship has allowed me to avoid having to get a part time job during the semester to afford to pay for school, and as a result I am able to devote more time to my extra curriculars and my academics.
How will you make a positive difference in the world?
I hope to be a succesful civil engineer who will help in the construction of many buildings and infrastructure that people will be able to safely use for years to come.
What is your major, minor, class and graduation year?
My major is Civil Engineering and I am currently a junior who will be graduating at the end of the spring 2018 semester.
What is your Hometown?
I am from Crofton Maryland, a city located about 20 minutes from Annapolis for those who are not familiar with the area. Crofton is close enough that I occasionally get to visit home and I appreciate that opportunity.
