Celebration of Scholarships
Marilyn R. Berman Fund for Female Undergraduate Teaching Fellows and Scholarships

Scholarship History

Stanford W. Berman established the Marilyn R. Berman Fund for Female Undergraduate Teaching Fellows and Scholarships in June 1996 to provide an annual award for a female undergraduate teaching fellow. This fund was established in honor of his wife at her retirement as associate dean for the A. James Clark School of Engineering. A goal of the Bermans was for the University of Marylandís percentage of female engineering students to exceed the national average, making Maryland a top choice of women wishing to study engineering.
