Celebration of Scholarships
Robert Michael Higginbotham Memorial Award

Scholarship History

Established October 10, 1969, by Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Higginbotham of Rockville, Maryland, in memory of their late son, Robert Michael Higginbotham, who received a B.S. degree in mathematics from the University in June 1967 and who was killed in Vietnam in May 1969. The income is to be used for a scholarship award to a deserving junior majoring in mathematics at UMCP. This annual award is to be made to the student who, in the opinion of the head of the Mathematics Department, shows the greatest promise and has need of financial assistance in order to complete the senior year.
