Scholarship History

Michael E. Johnson '76 established the Edward and Marjorie Johnson Architecture Endowed Scholarship in December 2017 to support merit-based scholarships for undergraduate or graduate students in the School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation. Mr. Johnson was the first African American student to graduate with an Architecture degree from the University of Maryland. He was also a member of the track team from 1972 to 1974, winning the ACC title in the 440 yard dash.
