Barbara S. Levine Cronin Endowed Scholarship

Scholarship History

Barbara Cronin established the Barbara S. Levine Cronin Endowed Scholarship in October 2015 to support undergraduate students with need- and merit-based scholarships in the College of Education. Preference will go towards students studying early childhood education or special education, with an interest in working with students from traditionally under served communities. Barbara S. Cronin '67 (Education) had been attending UMD sporting events as a young child. She not only proceeded to receive an education from UMD but also served UMD as an adjunct professor and supervised seniors in their internships with the Early Childhood Program. Working in the Montgomery County Public Schools, with many students from impoverished home environments, compelled Mrs. Cronin to provide these students with the opportunity to complete their education as free of debt as possible and be role models for the diverse populations found in today's schools.
