'89), Adam and Jamie, Mrs. Kibel served as a member of the Board of Directors of Riverdale Neighborhood House and was a loyal supporter of Riverdale Country School. Mrs. Kibel continued her support of the school even after she relocated to New York City. While living in New York City, she remained actively involved in many Riverdale community efforts and was also a trustee of Project Renewal in Manhattan. In addition, Lillian Kibel was, with her husband Henry, a loyal friend and supporter of the University of Maryland School of Architecture.

Mrs. Kibel lost her battle with Lou Gerhig's Disease on January 17, 1999. In honor of her memory, her husband, Henry Kibel, established, through the University of Maryland Foundation, Inc., an endowed fund to support architecture students at the University of Maryland, College Park.
