William C. Graham and William J. Graham Endowed Scholarship

Scholarship History

William J. Graham ’51 established the William C. Graham and William J. Graham Endowed Scholarship in November 2011 to support undergraduate students at the University of Maryland, College Park who have graduated from a public high school in Cecil County, Maryland and who have demonstrated financial need. The fund was established in honor of William J. Graham's father, William C. Graham '27.

Donor Statement

William C. Graham ’27 spent a long and distinguished career in the field of education. He began teaching after graduating from the University of Maryland. In 1938, he was named principal of Rising Sun High School in Cecil County, Maryland, a position he held until 1952. He eventually served as supervisor of schools for the county before passing away in 1993. In honor of Mr. Graham’s memory and dedicated service, his son, William J. Graham ’51 established an endowed fund to support undergraduate students at the University of Maryland, College Park who have graduated from a public high school in Cecil County, Maryland and who have demonstrated financial need.
