Established December 1, 1978, by a gift from M.J. Grove of Brenham, Texas, in memory of his grandfather. The income is to be used for an annual scholarship to be awarded to a full-time male student entering his junior or senior year in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources at UMCP. The recipient, who is to be preparing for a career in agronomy, animal husbandry, or horticulture, is to have been educated in Frederick County and a legal resident of that county at time of admission to the University. Preference is given to individuals born in Frederick County. Each recipient is to be selected on the basis of academic achievement, character, financial aid, and present employment to defray the costs of education. In the event there is no qualified candidate, selection will be based solely on academic achievement, without regard to sex or need.
