Fredric D. and Lois A. Anderson established the Flora and Quinton Harpine Endowed Graduate Award in August 2010 to support graduate students in the Department of Veterinary Medicine who have demonstrated financial need.
The Flora and Quinton Harpine Graduate Award Endowment was established to honor the memory of the parents of Lois A. Anderson. Flora and Quinton Harpine both grew up on farms caring for animals. After getting married, they moved to Maryland in 1938 where they raised their family and Quinton worked as a federal firefighter for over 20 years. They taught their children about love and compassion for animals, and their daughter and son-in-law, Fred and Lois Anderson, would like to honor that legacy with this scholarship endowment.
