Judy Iager ‘66 and Charles Iager ‘65 established the Judy and Charles Iager Scholarship in September 2007 to support students in the Department of Animal and Avian Sciences in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources. The Iager family has operated Maple Lawn Farms in Howard County, one of the largest dairy operations in the state, since 1938.
Charles Iager '65, a graduate of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources and his wife, Judy Iager '66, an education major, are equally passionate about two things—farming and the University of Maryland. Besides attending nearly every major event sponsored by the agriculture college during the last four decades, the couple believes it is important to financially support their alma mater.
"College is your home away from home," says Charles. "You're learning how to learn the rest of your life. And we're very proud to be Maryland graduates." In order to thank the University for investing in them, the Iagers established an endowed fund to support students in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources.
