Brandon James Malstrom Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship History

William Malstrom and Carol Mastrom '69, along with friends and family of Brandon James Malstrom established the Brandon James Malstrom Memorial Scholarship in December 2002 to support a transfer student who is a Maryland resident or a graduate of a Maryland high school whose aspirations best exemplify those of Brandon Malstrom. This fund was established in honor of Brandon James Malstrom, a junior operations and quality management major who died suddenly in November 2002.

Donor Statement

Brandon James Malstrom was a loving son, brother and friend. A passionate lacrosse player and skateboarder, he had transferred from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County to the University of Maryland, College Park. The 20 year-old junior, operations and quality management major died suddenly on November 10, 2002.

In order to preserve Brandon's memory, his family and friends established, through the University of Maryland College Park Foundation, Inc., an endowed fund to support an annual scholarship at the University of Maryland, College Park.
