Celebration of Scholarships
Jay Jackson Scholarship

Scholarship History

Allen C. Jackson, friends and associates established the Jay Jackson Scholarship in September 1979 to support the journalism student who has obtained the highest grade point average, with a preference for students working in the news-editorial sequence who are Maryland residents. This fund was established in memory of Jackson’s brother, Elmer (Jay) M. Jackson III, a 1953 graduate of the Phillip Merrill College of Journalism.
